Human Resources Officer (15 hrs/week)

The Friends of the Earth International Secretariat in Amsterdam is the administrative centre for the FoEI Federation. We coordinate cooperation among our member groups, but all Friends of the Earth member groups operate independently. For the International Secretariat we are currently looking for a


Human Resources Officer (2 days/15 hrs per week)

Job responsibilities

The HR Officer will work together with the Operations Manager in the areas of recruitment, personnel administration and staff development. The HR officer will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Assisting with recruitment processes (posting job ads, organizing resumes and job applications, scheduling job interviews)

  • Drafting of new labour agreements

  • Coordinating the orientation of new employees to the organization

  • Reporting staff mutations to insurance, social security and pension agencies

  • Filing and organizing of personnel files

  • Process sick leave mutations and maintain contact with insurance agencies

  • Sick leave case management in cooperation with team managers

  • Assist with scheduling and documenting of performance reviews

  • Answering employee questions on terms & benefits

  • Contribute to the implementation of staff development initiatives and other HR projects

The HR Officer is part of the Support Team and accountable to the Operations Manager.

Functie eisen

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or an undergraduate degree in areas such as Finance and Business Administration

  • At least two years of experience in a Human Resources position

  • Sound knowledge of Dutch employment law

  • Excellent communication skills verbally and in writing (Dutch and English)

  • Strong interpersonal, intercultural and organizational skills

  • Writing skills: ability to take meeting notes

  • Accuracy and organizational skills

  • Integrity and confidentiality awareness

  • Problem-solving skills, including being able to identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner

  • Affinity with the mission, vision, values and objectives of Friends of the Earth International

Arbeidsvoorwaarden

  • We offer an opportunity to contribute to a better world and work for an inspiring international and culturally diverse network in an office with a small friendly team at a great location in Amsterdam.

  • Full time gross salary between € 2,789 and € 3,138 monthly depending on experience and qualifications. Our full time work week is 37,5 hours/week.

  • Hours: 15/week

  • Contract duration: 6 months initially, renewal depending on performance

  • Participation in a collective pension arrangement is compulsory
